Rainfall Spreadsheet
The rainfallreports spreadsheet is an Excel Workbook which enables you to track and maintain you rainfall data offline.
In fact it can be used completely independently from this website, however that would not allow you to take advantage
of the email alerts and online publishing that are automated by rainfallreports.com.
The spreadsheet is valuable for:
- Bulk entry of data.
- Offline or Mobile data entry and graphing.
- Detailed graphing and statistical analysis.
- Offline backup of your rainfall data.

Instructions
Once you have downloaded the .xls spreadsheet from the link above, open the file in Microsoft Excel and follow these instructions:
1.Download
As a first step you should download your existing rainfall data into the spreadsheet using the download menu item. Select from the Excel
main menu "Rainfallreports->Download" - As illustrated in the following screen capture:
At the next screen you are prompted to select the "Station Name", do this by selecting the "..." button. You will need to enter your
rainfallreports.com user name and password to retrieve the data.
If all is successful you should see a "Download Complete" message, and one or more new sheets in your workbook (one for each year of data).
2.Create Calendar
Creating a calendar, will create a new spreadsheet for the specified year. It will contain all the
months and days correctly formatted for that year, ready for data entry.
Start by selecting "Create Calendar" from the menu:
At the next prompt you should enter the year for which you want the calendar. i.e. "1966"
At the end of this process, you should confirm that you have a sheet with the year that you entered, correctly
formatted for entry of rainfall data. The following image depicts the result:
3.Upload
Uploading, allows you to update the rainfallreports.com website with your updated spreadsheet data.
You should upload regularly to ensure that your local data is backed up on the website (should you accidently lose your
spreadsheet)
To start simply select the "Rainfallreports->Upload" menu as shown in this screen shot:
You may be prompted for a username and password (if you have not selected remember me), followed by and
Upload complete message if successful.
The upload process also downloads all current station data from the website, ensuring that they are syncronized. If data has been entered
online, since the last download, you will see that data in your workbook.
4.View Summary
The summary tab displays a graph of yearly rainfall from the rest of the workbook.
